The Lord is kind and merciful. — Psalm 103:8
Mass Readings: 2 Corinthians 5:14-21/Matthew 5:33-37
A verse from today’s first reading had me thinking about converts to Catholicism: “whoever is in Christ is a new creation.” As a cradle Catholic, I’m always so impressed by adults who seek and find the Church and then boldly step forward to become a part of it. I don’t know if I could do that.
And I always like their stories about their journey. Or, more accurately, their pilgrimage. They tell of how they became this “new creation” and speak with such delight, reverence, and gratitude for what they’ve been given. Like St. Paul himself, often they’re the ones who stand out as evangelizers, almost bursting at the seams to tell others what they’ve seen and heard. Thank God for converts! What tremendous blessings for the Church.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, guide all those searching for You and Your Church.
